GLEAM verströmt Indie-Charme mit Pop-Appeal.
Mal lyrisch und fragil, mal ungestüm und treibend, mal getragen von feinen Melodien und Harmonien, immer mit einem besonderen Augenmerk auf Rhythmus. Der Sound ist geprägt von erdig-analogen Klangfarben. Ohne sich einer Genre Schublabe zu verpflichten, zaubert die Band eine gute Portion Funkeln.
Die Songs erzählen vom Suchen, Zweifeln und Wachsen – persönlich und mit klarer Haltung. GLEAM verbindet real-life stories mit gesellschaftlichen Beobachtungen und schafft dabei Musik, die eingängig ist und Tiefe hat. Die Texte bleiben nah am Leben: ehrlich, poetisch und manchmal unbequem, ohne ihre Leichtigkeit zu verlieren.
Die Band entwickelt seit ihrer Gründung 2024 einen Sound, der zugleich warm und kantig, intim und kraftvoll, atmosphärisch und unmittelbar ist. Unabhängig von Trends und Mainstream-Erwartungen verfolgt GLEAM konsequent einen eigenen musikalischen Weg. Scheinbar mühelos gelingt der Spagat zwischen Komplexität und eingängigen Melodien. Im Zentrum steht der Gesang: warm und intensiv. Getragen von Gitarre und Piano, verbinden sich die auf das Wesentliche reduzierte Arrangements mit klanglicher Fülle. Dabei bleibt genügend Platz, um die unterschiedlichen musikalischen Hintergründe der Bandmitglieder hervorzuheben. Hier ist Vielfalt keine bloße Floskel, sondern wesentlicher Bestandteil der Musik.
GLEAM beweist, dass sich Zartheit und Kraft nicht ausschließen. Ihre Musik kann gleichzeitig nachdenklich und tanzbar, verletzlich und selbstbewusst sein. Die Stücke schaffen einen Raum, in dem unterschiedliche Gefühle nebeneinander existieren können, in dem man sich verstanden und gehört fühlt. „Coup De Coeur! That’s the word that comes to my mind, when I think about my encounter with GLEAM. To me the band represents everything that made me want to sing, compose, and simply make music.
I grew up in an environment where ’80s and ’90s Pop, Soul, Funk, Rock, Reggae were everywhere, thanks to my older brothers and their friends. And our family home was a gathering place for them. Listening to GLEAM play, took me right back to that world. I was completely swept away. Those melodies talked to me and touched me deeply.
I was absolutely convinced that it was that piano playing—the emotions it evoked—that was exactly what I have always been looking for. I don’t know where this will lead. But I already know, for me personally, this is leading to an unexpected journey full of emotions and positive energy.
All of this just happened so naturally. I wasn’t expecting to have such a wonderful encounter. Martina’s piano and her voice transported me on what felt like an „endless journey“. Not to mention, of course, Anja’s magnificent singing, which makes it all even more sublime.“
